Project Description:
Michael Klien and Davide Terlingo created a unique distributed performance for the streets of Cork in 2005. Their Daghdha Dance Company distributed 8,500 stainless steel rings designed by the highly esteemed Polish designer, Rafal Kosakowski. The ring was the symbol of an expanded community, the invitation to actively engage with each other in an ever changing world. Anyone could become a performer simply by wearing an Iris ring. Each Iris ring came with a set of five simple, written instructions. Each instruction invited the wearer to show a physical or mental reaction whenever he or she met someone wearing the same ring.
