Venue: Bessborough House & Gardens, Blackrock
Project Description:
The Discursive Picnic was a day of discussion led by local artists and groups that have came together during the Grassroots phase of Caucus. This project is inspired by curator and theorist Sarat Maharaj, who worked with these groups in preparation for this all-day event. It involved a series of talks and discussions within a barbeque picnic context in the expansive gardens of Bessborough House at Mahon Point. Artists Stephen Brandes and Mick O'Shea (the Domestic Godless) who use food as a basis for art projects, developed and presented a highly original menu for this event.
