Programme

Terminal

Date: 4 – 24 November 2005
Venue: Triskel

Project Description:
Presented by the Cork Artists Collective, Terminal was a group show of works tangentially connected by the experience of travel. The inclusion of a number of invited international artists in the exhibit reflected the Collective’s commitment to engaging with other international artists and organizations. The new work, ideas, knowledge and friends formed during this exchange originate from geographically diverse countries such as China, India, Japan, Turkey, Wales, England and Ireland.

The exhibition marked the end of the series of residencies undertaken by Collective members throughout 2005 and also marks the twentieth anniversary of the Cork Artists Collective and its role as a focal point for contemporary art practice in the city.

‘Terminal’, a three-week event, presented twenty-one exhibiting artists. The event demonstrated the diversity of media that is associated with contemporary art practice such as photography, installation, film and drawing. A series of durational film screenings and presentations were also scheduled.
