Arts Exchange
Project Partner:
Mayfield Community Arts Centre, Project Ability, Glasgow
Date: Year long
Project Description:
At Mayfield Community Arts Centre ten artists formed a group studio practice to develop their unique and individual arts practice in a cooperative environment similar to that pioneered by John Cocozza, Edward Henry, Tommy Mason, Cameron Morgan and Steven Reilly from Project Ability at Glasgow’s Centre for Developmental Arts.
Throughout 2005, the Cork and Glasgow artists collaborated and exchanged virtually and by visiting each other’s cities. A body of work was created through the interaction that took place between the artists and their engagement with each other’s environment. The progress of the collaboration was on view online, at work in progress exhibitions and a celebration finale event in December 2005.
