The TG4 Traditional Music Awards gala concert and award ceremony returned to Cork. The 2005 awards were Jackie Daly (Musician of the Year), Seán McKeon (Young Musician), Peadar O'Loughlin (Hall of Fame), Josephine
Keegan (Composer) and Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill (Singer). Award winners were joined by a host of special guests including Máirtín O'Connor, Cathal Hayden, Maeve Donnelly & Ronan Browne, Buttons & Bows, Michéal and Tríona Ní Dhomhnaill, Seamus Creagh and Arty McGlynn to celebrate the best in Irish traditional music in a gala concert.
The TG4 Gradam Ceoil is recognised as the biggest single event in the traditional music calendar in Ireland. The Traditional Music Awards gala concert and award ceremony returned to Cork in 2005, celebrating the best in traditional music and song for the year.
The awards were presented at a televised Gala Awards Ceremony and Concert that took place in the Opera House Cork on Saturday 12 November 2005 (later broadcast on TG4 on Sunday 20 November).
The winners of the TG4 National Traditional Music Awards for 2005 were Jackie Daly (Musician of the Year), Seán McKeon (Young Musician), Peadar O'Loughlin (Hall of Fame), Josephine Keegan (Composer) and Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill (Singer).
Award recipients were joined by a host of special guests including many of the biggest names in traditional Irish music for this gala.
