Project Description:
This was the first reader on community arts practice in Ireland. Published by New Island and spanning a 30 year period, it was an examination of community arts development through a series of themes. Edited by Sandy Fitzgerald, contributors included Brian Maguire, Rhona Henderson, Martin Lynch, Ailbhe Murphy, Declan McGonagle, Jo Egan, Gerri Moriarty, Will Chamberlain, AC Grayling and Susan Coughlan. During its development, Cork 2005 hosted two forums: one on the history of community arts practice and development and a second on the contemporary position and likely development.
