Project Description:
Cork Campus Radio 97.4FM carried out a series of 12 interviews with individuals who have contributed greatly to Cork across strands of cultural life within Cork city and county. Interviewees came from the areas of sport, theatre, art, dance, literature, photography, politics and local government. Each monthly interview took place in the subject's own environment, lasted for one hour and was interspersed with the subject's musical choices/sound pieces.

Irish Jack
Date: 26 January 2005
The first interview in the series was with Cork postman Irish Jack, friend of rock group The Who and the inspiration for the celebrated film ‘Quadrophenia’.

Maureen Forrest
Date: 23 February 2005
The second interview in the series was with Maureen Forrest, director of the Hope Foundation.

Billy MacGill
Date: 30 March 2005
The third anthology in the series was an interview with photographer, Billy MacGill.

Pádraig O Cuanacháin
Date: 27 April 2005
The fourth anthology in the series was an interview with Pádraig O Cuanacháin, co-founder of the Gael Scoileann and promoter of the Irish language.

Kathleen Lynch

The fifth interview in the series was with Kathleen Lynch, TD.

Stevie G
Date: 26 June 2005
The sixth anthology was with Deejay Stevie G.

Suzy O’Mullane
Date: 27 July 2005
The seventh interview in the series featured the visual artist Suzy O’Mullane in conversation with John Adams.

Benny McCabe

The eighth anthology featured Cork publication Benny McCabe in conversation with Adrian Scanlon.

Emelie Fitzgibbon
Date: 28 September 2005
The ninth anthology in the series was with Emelie Fitzgibbon, Director of Graffiti Theatre Company.

Clára Ní Annracháin

The tenth interview was with Clára Ní Annracháin as Gaeilge.

Cliona O’Carroll
Date: 30 November 2005
The eleventh interview in the series was with ethnologist Cliona O’Carroll.

Patrick Galvin
Date: 14 December 2005
The last anthology was a special retrospective on the life and work of poet, playwright and author Patrick Galvin, featuring a combination of interviews recorded at his home and at Sullivan's Quay School (home of the Munster Literature Centre) over the past number of years, as well as soundbites of Patrick in December 2005. Produced and presented by Catriona Chambers and compiled with the help of Mary Johnson, this Anthology also featured well known Irish traditional songs sung by Patrick Galvin that were recorded in America in the 1960's.
