Project Description:
The opening concert of the third East Cork Early Music Festival was a special performance by baroque superstar soprano Emma Kirkby. Performing a programme of Bach and Handel, she was accompanied by the Irish Baroque Orchestra under the direction of eminent Dutch violinist Lucy van Dael. Audience who came to hear the renonwed soprano also enjoyed the thrilling sound of baroque trumpet in some of JS Bach's perennial masterpieces.
