Project Description:
In March ‘Enlargement’ focused on life in Latvia as seen through the lens of internationally renowned Latvian photographer Andrejs Grants.

Titled ‘Latvia; Changing and Unchanging Reality’ and taking its main theme as the people in Latvia, this photo-documentary recorded a variety of Latvian people of different social levels, professions, nationalities and generations. People in their usual surroundings – in the city or countryside, at work or at home, in festivities or alone. The selection not only focused on portraits, but on persons in real places and real situations.

Grants’ objective was to reveal the universally shared values of love, peace, happiness, harmony, as well as different states of the human mind – joy, sorrow, pain, romantic passion, and irony. Grants brought his unique eye and photographic style to create a sharp uncluttered collection of persons and situations.

The exhibition was opened by the Latvian Ambassador to Ireland.
