Fostering a design consciousness among those working in the industry in Ireland as well as encouraging makers to keep inventing and exploring, Create continues to set the standard for Irish Furniture design and making.

Held in the magnificent surroundings of Fota House, Create 2005 featured a wide selection of work, all superbly designed and made, yet distinctive and innovative, and reflecting the individuality of its creator.

Featuring all new work, most of which had never been exhibited before, Create 2005 brought together established makers with up and coming names as well as guest exhibits by one of the world’s leading wood sculptors, Ian Norbury, and guest lecturer Jeremy Broun.

The programme also included a Lecture Series and a special catalogue, including essays by those participating in the Lecture Series and information on each exhibitor, was produced.
